This guide outlines how space roles (Supervisor, Coordinator, and Member) determine access levels to chat rooms within a space. Each space contains multiple courses, each with its own chat room. Additionally, a Space Room exists where announcements can be made, and messages can be broadcast to all course rooms.Chat access Based on Roles#
Supervisor & Coordinator#
Have full access to all chat rooms inside the space, including course chat rooms and the space room.
Supervisors and Coordinators have full access only if the space contains courses owned by the organization. If the course was purchased and is not owned by the organization, they must have a license to access the course room.
Can send messages, manage discussions, and participate in all space-related communications.
Member#
Has read-only access to chat rooms. The user can see the room listed among available chat rooms, but cannot view messages history or send messages.
Can view messages but cannot send messages or participate in discussions actively.
Space Room Announcements#
The Space Room allows space administrators (Supervisors & Coordinators) to send messages.
Any message sent in the Space Room is automatically broadcast to all course chat rooms inside the space.
This feature ensures that important updates reach all users across different courses.
Supervisor Role#
The Supervisor role is inherited if a user is invited as an Admin in an organization.
When an Admin joins an organization, users will automatically become Supervisors in all spaces owned by that organization.
This grants them access to all chat rooms across all spaces within the organization.
Manage Role Permission#
Supervisors and Coordinators can assign or update user roles within the space.
A userโs chat permissions change dynamically based on their assigned role.
