Publish a course
Who can put a course online, what happens when you press Publish, and what to do if it fails.
Updated on 27/10/2026: course review has been removed. Publishing depends only on roles and permissions.
A course goes online when someone who is allowed to publish it presses Publish. There is no review and no approval: not by the academy, not by Aladia, not by the AI.
Who can publish
- Whoever can edit the course (
course.updateon that course) sees Publish in the builder. - Paid courses also need the workspace's Stripe account to be connected: see Stripe.
- It is the same for every course: internal, public and in the personal workspace.
What happens when you publish
- The latest version goes online right away and students see it.
- The previously published version becomes unpublished and stays in the history: see Versions and the academic year.
- If going online fails, the version stays a draft: you see the reason, fix it and press Publish again.
Drafts work as before: while you edit a published course the changes stay in a draft until you publish.
Publish the year
Publish the year puts every course of the academic year online directly. For each course the outcome is published or error with the reason: see Academic years.
Courses that were waiting for review
Courses that were waiting for review on 27/10/2026 went back to draft: none was published automatically. Open the course and press Publish when it is ready.
Reports and suspensions
Content moderation still applies: reported content can lead to strikes, and strikes can suspend publishing. That is separate from publishing a course: see Report and block.
