Run an academy

Organise teachers, spaces, licences and calendars for a whole school.

An academy is an organisation account: it owns spaces and courses, has its own calendar and chat, and gives roles to the people who work in it. You switch between your personal context and an academy from your avatar in the top bar.

Create and verify the academy

  1. From your avatar choose New academy, then name, sector and contact details.
  2. Complete the identity verification with Stripe from Teaching in the academy context. Until then the academy can prepare content but not sell.

People and roles

People lists everyone in the academy with their role: owner, admin, teacher, member. Invite by email or with an invitation link, change roles, remove members. Teams group people for licences and assignments.

Spaces and licences

Courses live in spaces; an academy can buy licences for a course and distribute them to people or teams, so students join without paying individually. Licence usage is visible in the space members page.

Subjects and study levels

The Subjects area maps what the academy teaches: subject areas, subjects, study levels, the books used at each level and the teachers assigned. Lessons can be tagged with a subject and pages of a book.

Calendar and closures

The academy calendar defines working hours, holidays and closed days that every course calendar inherits. Recurring lessons are planned once and propagated to all the courses involved.
