Custom fields

The extra data the academy asks in the request form, at checkout and at sign-up, and where to find it.

Custom fields let you ask people for the data your academy needs: education, date of birth, tax code, "I accept the rules", a document to attach… Create them in Settings › Custom fields (Owner and Admin).

Types

TypeFor example
TextCity, tax code (up to 300 characters)
Long textMotivation, experience
Email, Phone, NumberParent's email, work phone, years of experience
Single choiceEducation: High school / Degree / Master
Multiple choicePreferred days
DateDate of birth
Yes/no"I accept the rules" (when required it must be ticked)
FileCV, document (PDF or image up to 10 MB)

The Phone field shows the country flag and calling code on the left (your academy's country at first, otherwise the browser's, otherwise Italy): people can change it by searching the country or the code. The number is checked for the chosen country and saved in international format (+39 333 123 4567).

The type can't change after creation. Label, help text, options, required and placements change any time; renaming an option keeps the values already collected.

Where they show

For each field pick one or more placements:

  • Request form: the "Request information" / "Enroll" form of course pages without Stripe (Information requests);
  • Checkout: the payment page of a course;
  • Sign-up: account creation on your academy's site (with email and password).

File fields can be asked only in the request form: files go to a private academy storage and only people who see requests can open them.

With more than 4 fields in the request form, the form opens on its own page instead of a box.

Different fields for a course

In Settings › Requests and sales › Form per course pick a course and tick the fields it must ask (and whether they're required there). That course uses only those; Use the workspace ones goes back to the fields placed in "Request form".

Order and archive

The arrows change the order fields show in forms. Archive removes a field from forms without deleting anything: collected values stay in columns and exports, and Restore brings it back.

Where you find the values

Values stay on the person inside your workspace, recognised by email:

  • in Requests: a column and a filter per field, the values in the request detail (files open from there) and in the CSV;
  • in Settings › People: a column per field under Columns (hidden by default) and a filter, also in the CSV. It takes the permission to see requests;
  • in the new-request email.

People who sign up with Google on the academy site skip the form: sign-up fields stay empty until you collect them another way.
